How to export a Google Gemini conversation to PDF, Word, Markdown, and more - the quick and the thorough way.

Google Gemini conversations can hold useful research and drafts you'll want outside the chat window. Here's how to export them.

Method 1: Gemini's built-in options

  • Google Takeout. Gemini activity can be exported through Google Takeout as part of your Google data. It's a complete archive, useful for backup but slow and coarse for a single conversation.
  • Copy and paste. Selecting and pasting into Google Docs works, but formatting and code styling often don't survive.

Method 2: Print to PDF

Ctrl/Cmd + P → Save as PDF. Works well for a short chat that fits on screen. With very long conversations it occasionally misses the parts scrolled out of view, or catches a stray interface control.

Method 3: One-click export with AI Chat Snapper

  1. Open the conversation at gemini.google.com.
