How to Save AI Chats Offline

Keep private, local copies of your AI conversations - no account, no upload, nothing leaving your device.

Some conversations are too sensitive to route through another service - client work, private research, anything confidential. The safest way to keep them is offline: a local file generated on your own device, with nothing uploaded.

Why offline matters

  • Privacy. Share links and cloud exports send your conversation somewhere else. A local export never leaves your machine.
  • Durability. A file on your disk survives account suspensions, service outages, and plan changes.
  • No lock-in. Plain formats like Markdown and TXT stay readable for years, with tools you already own.

Save an AI chat offline

AI Chat Snapper generates local exports entirely in your browser and can run fully offline:

  1. Open the conversation in any supported assistant.
  2. Click the AI Chat Snapper icon.
  3. Choose a format - Markdown and PDF are good offline choices.
  4. Choose save locally.
